Courtesy Pay

We know that mistakes can happen and Chivaho can help you prevent from bouncing a check or ACH transaction.  Courtesy pay can help take some of the worry and expense of an NSF transaction away.  Though the $25 fee for Courtesy Pay is the same as an NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds ) Fee, Courtesy Pay offers the following features;

How does Courtesy Pay Work?

In general, qualified members automatically receive this service.

If you write a check or authorize and ACH Transaction and do not have enough money to cover the check or ACH transaction, the funds will be taken from the other accounts that you have set up via overdraft protection.

If your other accounts are exhausted and overdraft protection cannot cover the check or ACH transaction, Courtesy Pay may pay the check or ACH transaction for you, and create a negative balance in your checking account.  You will be notified of the transaction and the checking account must be brought to a positive status immediately upon notification.

 The Courtesy Pay service does not constitute an actual or implied agreement between you and the Credit Union.  Nor does it constitute an actual or implied obligation of or by the Credit Union.  This service represents a purely discretionary courtesy or privilege that the credit union may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by the credit union at any time without prior notice, reason or cause.

We typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits.  Organizational accounts, temporary residents and members with accounts in default will not be granted the Courtesy Pay service.

We may limit the number of accounts eligible for the Courtesy Pay service to one account per household.
